Happy New Year

Welcome back,

We’ve had a great start to 2025! We’re thrilled to have new families with children starting school in January — thank you for joining The Discovery Center community!

Here’s what’s happening this month:

Winter Weather

Classrooms go outside every day as long as the temperature with windchill is above 0 degrees. Please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing to play outside (i.e. snow pants, waterproof boots, gloves/mittens, a hat, scarf).

Only Adults Open Doors

Children have been seen running in and out of classrooms and at times without an adult. As a safety precaution, we ask that only parents open and close classroom doors.

Summer/Fall Survey

If you have not had a chance to submit the survey emailed to you about your child’s upcoming plans for summer and fall ‘25, please do so to help with planning for fall enrollment: https://discoverycentera2.squarespace.com/summer-fall-survey

Young 5s Program

If you’re looking to transition your child between preschool and kindergarten, don’t forget we offer a Young 5s program! We understand AAPS may not be an option for your child if they aren’t age eligible. For more info reach out to Alice, our communications & marketing manager.

Chinese New Year

We thought this would be a great opportunity to share how Asian cultures celebrate the Lunar New Year. Ms. Alice will be sharing her own family traditions with each classroom on January 29. She’ll also be passing out a small gift to each student.😊🎊
